The Corner Suite at Viewville Gardens is a quiet and cozy 500 square foot, ground level, one bedroom apartment. Located just a 4-minute drive - or about a 20-minute walk - from St. FX University, this is an ideal base for visitors attending homecoming, graduation, or other campus events. Located just a 7 minute drive (or an enjoyable bike ride) from St. Martha's Regional Hospital, this space offers comfort and convenience for healthcare professionals or patients' families. We welcome guests for medium and short-term stays. This single-level apartment offers easy, step-free access, making it a comfortable and convenient choice for guests with mobility considerations. The suite is designed to be 'business travel ready' with a dedicated workspace and reliable WiFi. This stylish and cozy one-bedroom apartment offers a perfect retreat for two with thoughtful touches like a customizable bed, a picnic set for outdoor excursions, and a well-appointed kitchen for romantic meals. The Corner Suite has a queen-sized, Canadian-made, natural latex, plush 880 pocket coil mattress by Haven which provides superior support. To fine-tune your comfort, we’ve added a unique four-inch luxury Haven Comfort Topper for those who desire a cloud-like sinking-in sensation for a cozy, comforting sleep. If you prefer a classic firm feel that keeps you "on top" of the mattress, just let us know, and we will customize the bed according to your preference. We use premium, long-staple 100% cotton linens by the Canadian company "Bedface". We offer a wide selection of coffees and teas as well as complementary snacks. If you have special dietary needs, please just let us know, and we will do our best to provide treats that you can enjoy. The Chef's kitchen is rich in America's Test Kitchen recommended gear. There is a microwave and toaster. An immersion blender is in the unit; a countertop blender can be provided upon request. Champagne glasses and a wine carafe are provided to celebrate special occasions. The Corner Suite has a standard shower with rain shower head and luxurious towels. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and lotion, hair dryer and hair drying towel are provided. A clothes washer and dryer is available free for guest use inside the apartment. Unscented detergent is provided along with an iron, ironing board, air drying rack, lint brush, sewing kit and stain remover. The sofa is comfortable for sleeping; extra bedding is available upon request, and we can also provide an inflatable mattress. A high-chair and portacot are also available upon request. Please let us know if you are travelling with children, and we will bring additional age-appropriate amenities into the space. We provide a smart lock for seamless self-entry. A portable air conditioner is provided for seasonal comfort. A bluetooth speaker is available for your enjoyment, and there is an exterior security camera on site. Free parking is available to our guests. A fire extinguisher, fire blanket, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, emergency flashlights and a first aid kit are provided. Architects, designers, and professional landscapers have worked together to carefully curate Viewville Gardens to ensure that windows on the property provide both beauty and privacy. The angles of sight lines, along with natural screening provided by landscaping, mean that you can enjoy the beautiful garden views freely. The Corner Suite is located off the main street, on a private residential lane used by five quiet long-term residents and our AirBNB guests who travel to and from primarily by car. There is a large parking space available exclusively for use by AirBNB guests in the suite. The Corner Suite provides blackout blinds on bedroom, dining area, and living room windows - and on the entry door - to use, if you prefer. We provide a portable air conditioner for seasonal comfort. The Corner Suite is at ground level because it is set into a small hill. There is a very quiet family of long-term residents who live in the home above. In my experience of the space, I have only rarely been aware of faint sound coming from the upstairs unit. The family's bedrooms are on the second floor of their two-storey home. We are 100m from a bakery/corner grocery store which is open 6:00am-10:00pm daily. It is an excellent place for basic supplies such as cream for your coffee or milk for your tea. They are known for their cinnamon buns which we often smell fresh from the oven and have good sandwiches wrapped and ready in the fridge. We are within a short drive to several beautiful beaches and provincial parks. Beach towels are provided. It is 16 min to Mahoney's Beach, 21 min to Arisaig Beach and Provincial Park, 24 min to Pomquet Beach/Park and 38 min to Cape Breton by car. Many guests will stay with us on their way to and from the Cabot Trail. We are located 1 hour 45 minutes from the Halifax international airport and 2 hours 7 minutes from the North Sydney Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal to Newfoundland.

Kitchen & Supplies: Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, dish soap and all-purpose cleaner by Canada's "The Unscented Company" are provided. Canada's "Nellie's" scent-free laundry soap is provided along with a starter pack of other household supplies. We support the local Halifax-based coffee roaster "Java Blend" and the Montreal tea house "Camellia Sinensis". Home office materials are available in this business travel ready and laptop friendly unit. We are delighted to tailor your stay to your personal needs by providing several additional items available upon request: a pour over coffee maker, champagne glasses, wine carafe, yoga mat, beach chair, picnic backpack, puzzle mat, shower stool, countertop blender - and Scrabble and cribbage games! Viewville Gardens is close to the corner of Viewville and Hawthorne Streets. It is in a very quiet residential area. Viewville Gardens has unusual quiet and privacy because it is tucked away slightly off the main road.
Guest Access
Because the house is set in a hill and rock garden, its entry is step free. The threshold is 2 inches. There are no interior stairs. The private, free parking space is 24 feet wide with seasonal corner bistro set. The entry and bedroom doors are 32 inches wide. The bathroom door is 28 inches wide. There is a stool available for use in the shower.

Antigonish, and rural Nova Scotia generally, are best suited to travel by car. Times given to local points of interest and attractions are GoogleMap times by car. This is the most comfortable way for guests to enjoy the Antigonish area. Several long-term residents have lived here happily, however, using only travel by foot. Recent travel nurses have enjoyed mid-term stays in Viewville Gardens by combining travel by foot with local taxis. Viewville Gardens is a 15-20 minute walk to Main Street and StFX. Charging points for electric vehicles are available at the People's Place Library on Main Street and at St. Francis Xavier University.
